The practical walkthrough of a USFans shipment: consolidating your parcel, picking a line for your country, setting the declaration, and what to do when tracking stalls.

USFans Shipping, Step by Step

This guide is the process side of shipping: what you click, in what order, and what to do when something goes sideways. If you are looking for line-by-line prices and delivery estimates instead, read USFans Shipping Guide: Methods, Costs & Delivery Times — the two guides are meant to be read together.

The shipping flow in seven steps

Step 1 — Let the parcel arrive

After USFans buys your item, the seller ships it domestically to the warehouse. That leg usually takes 2–7 days. The item appears in your account once it is scanned in.

Step 2 — Review the QC photos

Free QC photos are taken on arrival. Approve, request an exchange, or return. Nothing ships until you decide. Our QC photo guide covers what to look for.

Step 3 — Wait and consolidate

Storage is free, so let several orders pile up. One 3 kg parcel is always cheaper than three 1 kg parcels, because every shipment carries its own base handling charge.

Step 4 — Submit a shipment

Select the items you want to send, and the system gives you an estimated weight. This is the moment to strip weight out (see below).

Step 5 — Choose a line

Lines differ by price per kilo, speed, weight cap and how well they cope with your country's customs. Pick based on destination first, then budget.

Step 6 — Set the declaration

You enter a declared value and a generic content description. This is what customs sees. Get it right and your parcel sails through; get it wrong and it sits in a depot. See how to declare on USFans for the per-country numbers.

Step 7 — Pay and track

Pay the shipping fee, receive a tracking number, and follow it on the carrier's own site rather than only inside USFans.

Choosing a line by destination

Rates and transit times below are the published USFans figures as of September 2026; check the USFans fee page for the current numbers before you ship.

United States

The generous $800 de minimis means most personal hauls arrive duty-free. The USFans tax-free line is the default choice; EMS is the fallback when you want extra reliability. Express couriers are fast but attract more scrutiny.

Typical door-to-door: 12–18 days on the tax-free line.

Canada

Low de minimis and slower customs. Keep declarations modest and expect a longer clearance window than the US.

Typical door-to-door: 15–22 days.

United Kingdom and the EU

VAT applies from a low threshold, so the declaration matters more here than anywhere else. Splitting a big haul into two lighter parcels often costs less in total than one parcel that trips a threshold.

Typical door-to-door: 10–16 days.

Australia and New Zealand

The AUD 1,000 threshold is generous, but Australian customs inspects aggressively. Keep parcels small and use a line with solid tracking; EMS is the community default.

Typical door-to-door: 10–18 days to AU, a few days longer to NZ.

Middle East and Asia

Regional lines are usually both the cheapest and the fastest. Thresholds are low in several countries, so check the declaration table before you submit.

Typical door-to-door: 5–15 days within Asia, 15–25 days to the Gulf.

Cutting the shipping bill

Shipping is charged on the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight, so bulk costs you as much as mass.

1. Remove the packaging. Ask USFans to discard shoe boxes and retail cartons. On a four-pair sneaker order this alone can save a kilo or more.

2. Consolidate. One shipment, one base fee.

3. Compress. Vacuum packing for clothing is cheap and can halve the volumetric weight of a puffer jacket.

4. Drop the slow-shipping stuff into sea freight. If nothing in the parcel is urgent, sea freight is by far the cheapest per kilo.

5. Avoid mixing heavy and light. A single 3 kg ceramic item can force an entire haul onto an expensive line. Ship it separately.

Packaging options

| Option | What it does | When to use it | |---|---|---| | Standard | Boxes removed, basic protection | Clothing, soft goods | | Reinforced | Extra padding and outer layer | Anything rigid or breakable | | Moisture proof | Waterproof inner wrap | Electronics, sea freight | | Stretch film | Holds the bundle together | Multi-item hauls | | Vacuum pack | Removes air volume | Jackets, hoodies, bedding |

Insurance

Insurance costs a small percentage of the declared value and pays out against loss or damage in transit.

Worth it: anything over about $100, electronics, fragile goods, items that are hard to re-buy.

Usually skip: cheap clothing and accessories you would happily re-order.

Remember that a payout is based on the declared value, which is an argument against declaring absurdly low figures on an expensive parcel.

When tracking goes quiet

"It has not updated in five days"

Normal. Parcels batch at the outbound facility, then sit through customs. Gaps of 3–7 days with no scan are routine, especially over Chinese public holidays.

Act when: there has been no movement for 10+ days after the first outbound scan.

"It is stuck at customs"

Standard clearance is 1–3 days. Random inspection adds a few more. Occasionally the carrier will contact you for an ID or an invoice — respond quickly, because unanswered requests are what turn a delay into a return-to-sender.

"It was returned to China"

Almost always a declaration or prohibited-content issue. Contact support, find out which, and re-ship with a corrected declaration.

Seasonal timing

| Period | What happens | What to do | |---|---|---| | Chinese New Year (Jan–Feb) | Factories and warehouses close for 2–3 weeks | Order in December | | Singles' Day (11 Nov) | Record parcel volume, lines back up | Ship before the 5th or after the 25th | | 618 (mid-June) | Same effect, smaller scale | Add a week to estimates | | December | Western holiday peak | Ship by late November for gifts | | Summer | Quietest window | Best time for large hauls |

Item-specific notes

Shoes — boxes removed, pairs bagged, ship together.

Clothing — fold tight or vacuum pack; tags off if you want the weight.

Electronics — keep the retail box, add moisture protection, consider insurance.

Watches — ship separately from big hauls; a modest declaration per watch is standard practice.

Fragile items — reinforced packaging is not optional, and insurance is cheap next to a replacement.

Troubleshooting checklist

Lost parcel: wait 30 days from the last scan, then open a case with your tracking number and file an insurance claim if you bought cover.

Damaged on arrival: photograph the outer box before you open it, then the contents, and report within 48 hours.

Wrong item: do not wear or wash it. Photograph the item and its labels, and contact support the same day.

Quick reference

  • US: tax-free line, 12–18 days, duty rarely an issue
  • UK/EU: tax-free line, 10–16 days, declaration is the critical variable
  • Canada: tax-free line, 15–22 days, low threshold
  • Australia: EMS, 10–18 days, expect inspection
  • Gulf: regional air line, 15–25 days
  • Big, non-urgent hauls anywhere: sea freight
